IELTS Speaking Test
This test is a face-to-face interview with an examiner, which will take about 11 to 14 minutes and designed to assess your use of spoken English.
The Speaking test consists of three parts:
Part 1: General questions will be asked about yourself and a range of familiar topics, such as your hometown, family, work, studies and interests for 4 and 5 minutes.
Part 2: You will be given a card with a question/ topic written on it and you will be asked to talk about that particular topic. You will have one minute to prepare before speaking for up to two minutes. A paper and a pencil will also be provided by the examiner which can be used to make notes while preparing and can be looked upon while speaking so that you don’t miss anything.
Part 3: You will be asked further questions related to the topic in Part 2. These questions give you an opportunity to discuss more abstract issues and ideas and show your communication skills. This part lasts between 4 and 5 minutes.
